In the twenty-five years that I’ve been practicing as a licensed clinician, I’m fortunate to have treated a broad range of patients in a variety of mental health settings. In my early career as a clinical social worker, I worked with women suffering from domestic violence and sexual assault; I ran therapy groups for children of divorced or separated parents and, as a Fellow at the Washington School of Psychiatry, I received advanced clinical training providing intensive psychotherapy at the center’s clinic. As a psychologist, I’ve worked with students in therapeutic and special education schools, and with children and adults at Chestnut Lodge hospital – a world renowned psychiatric hospital known for the long-term treatment of patients with severe mental illnesses.
Throughout most of this time, I maintained a private practice; additionally, my lifelong interest in learning motivated me to pursue training as an adult psychoanalyst – what I believe to be the most thorough education available in comprehending normal and pathological development.
I am indebted to my patients who’ve been my best teachers throughout my career and I am grateful to have had the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience teaching and supervising other clinicians.
